How it Works - A Simple Example

An electronics retailer has 25 copies of the hottest Christmas game and wants to maximize profitability. He could sell them at MSRP in his store, he could lock them up in an auction for seven days and hope that the high aftermarket price holds, or he could sell into the spot market at MetaExchange. Liking the risk-free spot market, he clicks and accepts to sell his 25 copies on MetaExchange. Emails are then instantly sent out, payment is received from his buyers, and his products ship.
